We review our choice of strategic priorities every year, to ensure we remain focused on the things that matter most. Within each strategic priority, we also review our understanding of the key issues to make sure we are addressing the most significant issues as they emerge.
In May 2008, we revised our choice of strategic priorities for the years ahead.
We added four new strategic priorities: Innovation; Business portal and standard business reporting; Better broadband; and Low-emissions electricity.
We modified two strategic priorities: International linkages is now Firm internationalisation; and Auckland is now Auckland strategy and governance.
We also removed the Infrastructure strategic priority.
Investment and Sustainable business remain as strategic priorities.

The Ministry's five strategic priorities from 2003 until May 2007 were Leadership, International Linkages, Innovation, Regulatory Environment and Infrastructure.
