The Board has commissioned research into how New Zealanders view growth; how growth and innovation could become more self-relevant to New Zealanders.
Infrastructure
The Board has been examining the impact of infrastructure on growth and innovation. It commissioned a study to look at this issue, and held a "Future Insight" Infrastructure Forum.
Agribusiness
The Board has been exploring how innovation can help New Zealand's primary industries enhance their role as New Zealand's leading export earner. It commissioned a study to understand more about New Zealand's land-based primary sector.
People and Skills
The Board has provided advice on education priorities, workplace and workforce issues, and immigration. The Board has two current projects, "Smart Enterprises" and "Secondary Futures".
Business Leadership-Government Forum
This one-day retreat brought together key participants in the New Zealand economy, early in the new parliamentary term, to renew momentum for economic transformation.
Global Connectedness
The Board's facilitates links between government and business to support collaborations that will enable a more effective approach to New Zealand's key markets, which enables exporters to improve their market reach.
Research and Innovation
This focus area involves the Board providing advice on specific research and innovation issues directly to the Minister for Research, Science and Technology, the Growth and Innovation Framework Officials Working Group, and is also a feature of its advice in other focus areas, such as agribusiness and growth culture.
