Energy Information
The Ministry compiles statistics on supply, demand, prices and greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector in order to provide baseline information, to fulfil New Zealand's international reporting obligations and to aid domestic policy development. Our two core publications, the New Zealand Energy Data File and New Zealand Energy Greenhouse Gas Emissions, may be purchased in hard copy and are accessible online at no charge.
Energy Data
The latest energy data can be accessed in this electronic release. This is updated regularly. It also includes annual summary and energy flow diagrams.
Publications
The Ministry issues various publications to provide information on New Zealand's energy supply, demand, and prices. These are Energy in Brief, Energy Data File, and Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

Media statements relating to energy publications and information.
Questionnaires
The Ministry collects electricity and gas statistics from gas and electricity enterprises. The Ministry will inform the companies from which such statistics are required by means of a notice and forms included here.
