Evaluation of Regional Development Programmes


The Ministry regularly evaluates all government industry and regional development programmes for both efficiency and effectiveness. Evaluation of industry and regional development programmes is an important input into the development and refinement of regional development policy. Evaluation information supports evidence-based policy development which in turn strengthens the overall effectiveness of government intervention.

Regional Partnerships Programme Review
The Ministry undertook a review of the Regional Partnerships Programme in 2002/2003. This review has included an assessment of regional development policy, as relevant context for this programme

Regional Partnerships Programme evaluation (2008)
This report presents the outcome the evaluation of the Regional Partnership Programme (RPP). The RPP was established as the government's principal regional development programme in 2000 and ran for seven years, ceasing in June 2007.

Review of the Polytechnic Regional Development Fund
The Regional Polytechnic Development Fund was set up in 2002 to encourage local Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics to collaborate with local industry and enterprises to support regional development.
