Electricity Generation Supply Cost and Availability

The Ministry contracted with East Harbour Management Consultants to prepare estimates of the costs and availability of electricity generation from both fossil fuel and renewable sources. Their estimates become inputs to the Ministry's models used to project New Zealand energy supply, demand, prices, and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Ministry also contracted with East Harbour Management Consultants to prepare estimates of the costs and availability of electricity generation from renewable sources. Their report looks at hydropower, geothermal, wind power, woody biomass, landfill gas and other biomass energy sources, solar water heating, photovoltaics, and marine energy.
