Database of Suggested Business Law Amendments
[ Last Updated 28 November 2005 ]
We welcome comment on problems with business law, and suggestions for amendment. In order to ensure we provide the best possible policy advice to government, we need to know:
- how the law operates in practice;
- what difficulties are being created for market participants; and
- what effects proposed amendments will have on market participants.
A database has been established to collate and manage policy analysis of all suggestions received from interested parties. This database is then used to determine relevant issues for consultation and potential inclusion in subsequent Business Law Reform Bills. This database is also used to monitor the progress of the incremental law amendments and substantive reviews undertaken by the Group.
A list of statutory provisions on which comment has already been received has been placed on the database. Some of these comments have been included in provisions for reform proposed in the Discussion Document for the Business Law Reform Bill 2001.
