Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Service Centre

[ Last Updated 22 November 2005 ]

New Zealand is a member economy of APEC[link to APEC website] (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), an intergovernmental group established to further enhance economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. The Intellectual Property Experts' Group [link to APECIPEG website] (IPEG), is a group established within APEC to undertake and co-ordinate work relating to intellectual property rights.

To improve the transparency of intellectual property rights, regimes and enforcement in the APEC region, member economies have been encouraged to establish "virtual" IPR Service Centres [link to APECIPEG website]. When fully implemented, these IPR Service Centres will provide a useful resource for people, both in New Zealand and overseas, wishing to find more information about New Zealand’s and our APEC partners’, intellectual property regimes, including relevant laws, regulations and helpful contact details.
