Ministry of Economic Development (MED)
MED facilitates, leads and implements the government's vision for economic development and leads the production and coordination of policy advice related to economic, regional and industry development. MED works with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to design and implement programmes to deliver the government's economic development policies.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE)
NZTE is the government's agency charged with helping New Zealand businesses achieve success domestically and in the global marketplace.

The Treasury
The Treasury is the government's lead adviser on economic and financial policy. It manages the public purse, advising on how governments can get the best quality and value out of public spending. It also takes a broad and long view of the New Zealand economy, developing strategic advice for Treasury Ministers and Cabinet on its future shape and direction.

At an operational level, the Treasury manages the Crown's liabilities, monitor significant assets, manages and publish the Budget documents and Crown financial statements and manages New Zealand's relationships with international financial institutions, including the IMF and the World Bank.

Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (MoRST)
MoRST develops research and innovation policies and manages the publicly funded part of the Research, Science and Technology system on behalf of the government.
