2004 Business Finance Survey
12 October 2005
In 2004, the Ministry of Economic Development and Statistics New Zealand conducted the Business Finance Survey. The survey focused on the demand for debt and equity finance by firms over a 12 month period. The survey had the following core objectives:
- To determine the capital structure of firms
- To identify the sources of finance used by firms, and
- To understand the recent financing experiences of firms
A sample of businesses with between 1 and 500 employees in a wide selection of industries were surveyed. The survey uncovered the types of finance firms are requesting, their success in making those requests and the sources of finance. The Business Finance Survey Report is now available.
