I am an international student, can I still apply if I don't have citizenship or residency?

Yes, but any offer of employment would be conditional on you gaining and maintaining a valid work permit or permanent New Zealand residency.

How many graduates are taken on each year?

About 8–12.

What sorts of degrees that previous graduates have had?

We employ graduates from all disciplines, but most come from an economics, law, social science or physical science background.

Is having a Bachelors degree enough?

Yes. Our graduates have bachelors, honours, masters and doctorate degrees, with many having double degrees.

Do you have summer internships?

For the last three years, the Ministry of Economic Development has participated in the summer internship programme run by the State Services Commission. For further information see the Summer Internships section.

What is the salary range?

We offer competitive salaries relative to the market. Current salaries are in the $40,000 range.

How long is the programme for?

The programme currently consists of 2-3 rotations of between 12-24 months.
