• A Research Exemption for New Zealand's Patent Legislation
  The government has decided to consider the issue of whether or not an experimental use exception should be incorporated into New Zealand's patent legislation.
• World Intellectual Property Organisation - Principles and Policy Objectives for Protection of Traditional Knowledge
  The IGC has recently distributed a revised version of the two sets of draft Policy Objectives and Guiding Principles in preparation for the ninth meeting. The Ministry of Economic Development is preparing the New Zealand response to the documents and seeks the views of interested Māori and others to inform the preparation of the New Zealand response. Submissions closed on Friday 7 April 2006.
