The Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) is a fully electronic register where information about security interests in personal property are recorded and searched. The PPSR is available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Online services include

  • Creating and maintaining secured party groups
  • Filing change demands.

It is also possible to search for information about security interests held over motor vehicles or held by individuals and companies.  You must only search the PPSR if your search is for one of the purposes set out in the Personal Property Securities Act 1999.

If you intend to use the PPSR you must be a registered user and enter a user id and password. You can register as a user of the PPSR at www.ppsr.govt.nz. You can use the same User ID and password to access our other websites including the Companies Office.
