South Pacific Trade and Economic Co-Operation Agreement (SPARTECA) Outcome of Review of Rules of Origin

The officials in the Competition and Enterprise Branch carried out a review of certain elements of the rules of origin for the South Pacific Trade and Economic Co-Operation Agreement (SPARTECA).
The Government has now made the following decisions:
- The current 45 percent clothing derogation will remain in force for so long as import tariffs remain in force;
- the 25 percent minimum FIC content requirements when FIC exports to New Zealand incorporate Australian material will also remain in force for so long as import tariff remain in force.
