We have had a number of meetings during our initial round of consultations with representative organisations, industry groups and several companies. The purpose of this introductory round was to elicit support in publicising the Tariff Review and in encouraging participation through submissions or by involvement in the later rounds of consultation.
We are intending to begin our second round of consultation with industry and other interested parties around mid-June. If you wish to register an interest in this process please email graeme.horne@med.govt.nz, or call Graeme Horne at 04-470 2359 or Clinton Watson at 04-474 2184. If you have already expressed an interest in a submission there is no need to re-register.
We have been receiving a good number of submissions which are helping to paint a picture of how tariffs impact on business. The date for receiving submissions has been extended. We are keen to hear from anyone with an interest in tariff policy by 30 June 2002. If however, you can not meet this deadline, we will accept submissions after this date.
Infometrics Consulting has been appointed to undertake some economic research and analysis to contribute to the Tariff Review.
