Summary of Review Findings:
Based on the information and evidence made available during the review, the Ministry concluded that;
- The goods under review from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan were no longer dumped.
- It is considered unlikely that there will be a recurrence of dumping from Korea, Malaysia, Singapore or Taiwan.
- A negligible volume of the subject goods from Indonesia are currently dumped.
- It is likely that this negligible volume of dumped imports from Indonesia will continue.
- A significant increase in the volume of imports of dumped goods from Indonesia is unlikely.
Therefore, the Ministry considered that the expiry of anti-dumping duties on the subject goods would not be likely to lead to the recurrence of dumping and material injury.
Revocation of Anti-Dumping Duties:
The review having found that the expiry of the existing anti-dumping duties would not be likely to lead to a recurrence of dumping and material injury, a recommendation was made to the Minister of Commerce that he revoke the anti-dumping duties.
On 1 February 2000 the Acting Minister of Commerce formally revoked the anti-dumping duties with effect from 22 June 1999, being a date that was five years after the notice of reassessment arising from the last review in 1994.
Any anti-dumping duties paid on shipments imported since that date will be refunded.
