Electricity (Levy of Industry Participants) Regulations 2005

[ Last Updated 24 January 2006 ]

Each year the government seeks an appropriation from Parliament to make payments to the Electricity Commission to enable it to perform its functions, powers and duties. These costs are recovered by way of a levy from every industry participant (or class of industry participants), as prescribed by these regulations (madeunder sections 172ZC and 172ZE of the Electricity Act). The Act requires the Commission, in preparing and recommending to the Minister its proposed appropriation, to consult with affected parties, and to advise the government of the outcome of those consultations.

More information is available on the Levy section of the Electricity Commission website.
