Electricity Line Owners (Commerce Commission Costs) Levy Regulations 2001

This levy relates to the cost of performing the Commerce Commission’s functions, powers and duties under Part 4A of the Commerce Act and of collecting the money. Each large line owner is liable, as at the commencement of each financial year, to pay in advance the full annual amount of its levy for that year. The regulations require, however, that the Minister must collect the levy in quarterly instalments.
The levy regulations are currently being reviewed following amendments to the Commerce Act in October 2008. More information is available under the Funding the Regulation of Electricity, Gas and Airports under the Commerce Act 1986 section.
