Anti-Dumping Duty

Anti-dumping duty is collected by way of Non-injurious-free-on-board (NIFOB) and Normal Value (Value for Duty Equivalent) (NV(VFDE)) amounts which have been set for the suppliers Independent Galvanising (Pty) Ltd, Consolidated Wire Industries (Pty) Ltd and Cape Gate Export Dvn (Pty) Ltd in the 3 categories.

For suppliers other than Independent Galvanising (Pty) Ltd, Consolidated Wire Industries (Pty) Ltd and Cape Gate Export Dvn (Pty) Ltd, an ad valorem percentage of the declared value for duty of the subject goods is calculated.

The amount of anti-dumping duty payable is the amount by which the NIFOB or the NV(VFDE) amount exceeds the New Zealand Value For Duty of the goods entered for home consumption.

To establish the correct NIFOB and NV(VFDE) and ad valorem amount to be used for an importation, two items of information are required:

  • The name of the South African supplier.
  • The galvanised wire size in millimetres.

NIFOB amounts in New Zealand dollars, NV(VFDE) amounts in South African rands and ad valorem percentages can now be read off the following table:

Category 1
Greater than or equal to 2mm but less than 2.5mm
(Per kg)

Category 2
Greater than or equal to 2.5mm but less than 4mm
(Per kg)

Category 3
Greater than or equal to 4mm but less than or equal to 4.5mm
(Per kg)
