Description of Goods

Galvanised steel wire of high, medium and low tensile strength between (and including) 2mm and 4.5mm in diameter.

Anti-Dumping duty

Anti-dumping duty is collected by way of Normal Value (Value for Duty Equivalent) (NV(VFDE)) amounts which have been set for the suppliers Southern Wire Industries (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Aspac Alliance Steel Sdn Bhd in the six galvanised wire categories. No anti-dumping duties apply to galvanised wire exported by RCI Wire Sdn Bhd.

For suppliers other than Southern Wire Industries (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Aspac Alliance Steel Sdn Bhd and RCI Wire Sdn Bhd an ad valorem percentage of the declared value for duty of the subject goods has been calculated at 9 percent of the FOB value up to a capped NV(VFDE) amount.

For the relevant suppliers the amount of anti-dumping duty payable is the amount by which the NV(VFDE) amount exceeds the FOB value of the goods entered for home consumption.

To establish the correct NV(VFDE) amount to be used for an importation, three items of information are required:

• The name of the Malaysian supplier.
• The galvanised wire size in millimeters.
• The FOB value of the goods.

NV(VFDE) amounts in Malaysian Ringgit and the ad valorem percentage are applied in the format of the following table. NV(VFDE) amounts are confidential and potential importers need to contact the relevant exporter for details of these amounts.

+ Except RCI Wire Sdn Bhd. No anti-dumping duties apply to galvanised wire exported by RCI Wire Sdn Bhd.

For sizes between (and including) 2mm and 4.5mm which do not have a specific NV(VFDE) amount, the rates applicable are those closest to the size recorded above for which amounts have been established.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 7217.20.10 and Statistical Keys 05L, 07G, 08E, 09C, 11E, 13A, 15H, 16F, 17D, 18B, 25E, 27A, 28K, 29H, 31K, 33F, 35B, 36L, 37J and 39E, and Tariff Item 7217.20.90 and Statistical Keys 05D, 07L, 08J, 09G, 11J, 13E, 15A, 16K, 17H and 18F of the Tariff of New Zealand for subject goods originating from Malaysia.
