The consultation period for the discussion document closed on 28 February 2003.
The Ministry has completed the review of the submissions to the discussion document and the summary of issues raised is now available to the public. The Ministry is continuing to consult with stakeholders as part of the policy development process. The options for a bioprospecting policy framework will be explored in a report to cabinet in July 2003. Further consultation will follow with stakeholders with the view to finalising a bioprospecting policy framework for New Zealand.
