Regional Economic Development Strategy Guidelines
Understanding Your Region
Phase 1: Mobilise the Region
The mobilisation and maintenance of stakeholder interest, involvement and buy-in, to the process of developing a regional economic development strategy is important.
Phase 2: Research
You will need to have a firm understanding of your region’s economy and its drivers. This can be developed into a regional profile.
Phase 3: Vision
The regional vision is essentially a statement of common interest and a commitment to co-operate toward the development of actions for pursuing common, agreed strategic objectives.
Phase 4: Analyse
A regional economic development strategy requires a firm understanding of the influences affecting your regional economy and the identification of opportunities for the region.

Phase 7: Evaluate and Update
