Average New Zealand Consumer - 8000 kWh per annum

The retail figures contained in this Schedule represent the total cost of electricity to an average domestic consumer in c/kWh. The figures include the "line charge" component, GST and PPDs offered by the retailer, so represent the final cost to an average consumer that pays on time.

For example (figures given inclusive of GST), a Retailer may charge a consumer 55 cents/day and 13.54c/kWh of electricity consumed. This would cost an average (8,000 kWh/annum) customer $1284 per annum, or 16.05c/kWh (i.e. 1284/8000 = 16.05). If the Retailer offered a 10% PPD, the final cost to the consumer would be 14.44c/kWh. Line charges are calculated in a similar manner.
