The Minister of Energy released a discussion document: Bioprospecting: Harnessing Benefits for New Zealand Forty submissions were received. |
July – September 2007 |
Public seminars on the bioprospecting discussion document were held in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch as well as twelve regional hui around the country. |

Four working groups convened to discuss specific aspects of bioprospecting policy

- Group Two: Enhancing Benefits for Science
- Group Three: Traditional Knowledge and Intellectual Property
