Information pertaining to the Cabinet decision on: Options for Further Work on Airport Regulation

Short Description This paper and subsequent decision moves the timeframe for which MED need to consider whether to undertake further work on airport regulation, from 2008/09 to such a later date that the new airport regime has been implemented under the Commerce Act.

The actual decision in response to the Cabinet paper recommendation is as follows:

On 18 June 2008 Cabinet Economic Development Committee:

  • Agreed that the Ministry of Economic Development consider undertaking further work on airport regulation once the new input methodologies and pricing principles of the new regime under the Commerce Act have been completed and implemented.1
