Introduction
The Ministry wishes to seek your views on a proposal to introduce a ban, for a period of up to two years from the date of release, on parallel importing of specific creative goods subject to copyright.
This proposal is part of the Government's wider vision of promoting New Zealand arts and culture. It also forms the first stage in the Government's programme of reviewing parallel importing restrictions on an industry by industry basis.
In order to assist you in providing comments, a brief outline of the Government's proposal and a questionnaire on the particular issues we would like you to address follows.
Written submissions must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday 14 April in order to be taken into account in advice to the Government.
