76. The Commerce Commission (International Cooperation and Fees) Bill was introduced to Parliament on 9 September 2008. The Bill makes amendments to the Commerce Act, Fair Trading Act and Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act to encourage greater cooperation between the Commerce Commission and equivalent overseas regulators. It also makes amendments to enable fee exemptions for clearance or authorisation applications under the Commerce Act.
77. I would like to seek approval for the Cabinet papers [EDC (05) 68, EDC (05) 111, CAB (07) 188 and CBC 08(339)] on which this Bill is based, to be made public on the Ministry of Economic Development's website.
