Roles
Te Puni Kokiri has ten regional offices around New Zealand. Te Puni Kokiri works closely with other agencies at a national and regional level and acts as a portal to communities for other agencies. Te Puni Kokiri covers a range of issues across social and economic development (including the labour market).

Te Puni Kokiri recently released a publication "Nga Kaihanga Hou – for Maori Future Makers" which explores the current position of Maori in the economy and what needs to be done to position Maori for optimal success in the future. Funding
Te Puni Kokiri funds a range of activities through the Maori Potential Fund. This fund is focussed on three areas: Matauranga (Knowledge/Skills); Rawa (Resources) and Whakamana (Leadership). Te Puni Kokiri has recently provided funding to a project to initialise projects that have the potential to provide growth in a region and lead to major regional initiatives. This project is being run by the Poutama Trust.
