Fiscal Implications
76. It is proposed that airports be levied to fund:
- the Commission in preparing input and information disclosure methodologies and specifications for the disclosure regime at a cost of $1 million in 2008/2009 and $400,000 in 2009/2010; and
- the ongoing costs of price monitoring. Costs will be $200,000 in 2009/2010 and $400,000 in 2010/2011 and out-years.
77. It is also proposed that the Crown provide funding of $200,000 to cover the costs of further work to consider whether:
- additional airports to those set out in recommendation 5 below should be subject to regulation under the Commerce Act; and whether
- other forms of regulation should apply to regulated airport companies under the Commerce Act
