93. The initiatives outlined in this paper address the key issues raised by the taskforce. Detail on some of the mechanisms [withheld under section 9(2)f(iv) of the Official Information Act] is still being developed. In addition, MED officials have carried out a programme of consultation with taskforce members on the content of the response and will carry out further consultation with key sector stakeholders. I have asked MED officials to report to me by the end of December 2007 on any remaining issues identified through this process that might require government action, including any related to Maori economic development and contribution to the sector.
