Proposal
1. This paper seeks Cabinet approval for a package of initiatives in response to the Food and Beverage Taskforce's August 2006 report, Smart Food, Cool Beverage: New Zealand's Future in the Food and Beverage Sector. The paper identifies generic and specific actions which will support the sector's development, including the steps required to take the sector to the next level of transformation. The paper provides a vision for the sector's future, a view on each of the specific taskforce recommendations and outlines an initial package of six key initiatives for immediate implementation.
