A1. The purposes of this report are to:

1. Consider the extent of piracy and counterfeiting in relation to goods protected by intellectual property rights in New Zealand and worldwide, likely trends, and how any changes might impact on New Zealand.
2. Suggest possible action which the government could consider to eliminate/combat/control the production, distribution, and sale of pirated and counterfeit goods and works subject to intellectual property rights in New Zealand.
