In March 2002 a discussion document "Review of the Plant Variety Rights Act 1987" was issued.
Government Agencies Consulted: Te Puni Kokiri, Treasury, the Ministries of Research Science and Technology, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry, Health, Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Environmental Risk Management Authority.
No significant concerns regarding the proposals were raised.
