4. A total of 36 submissions were received. These submissions have been classified as follows:
- Sixteen from patent owners, including four from legal practitioners ("patent owners");
- three from users or potential users of patented products ("users") (one of these was Pharmac, the government drug purchasing agency);
- one from a group that could be identified as representing Māori interests (Ngatiwai Trust Board);
- twelve from individuals or groups concerned about the humanitarian and environmental issues;
- two from academics; and
- the remainder from individuals who where unable to be classified into any of the above groups.
5. A list of respondents is attached to this report as Appendix 1.
