The Ministry of Economic Development
The Ministry of Economic Development, which was established in February 2000, has the task of helping the Government pursue its economic development agenda. The Ministry incorporates the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism. We work directly for the Ministers for Economic Development, Industry and Regional Development, Small Business, Commerce, Tourism, Communications, Consumer Affairs, Energy, and Information Technology. Our range of activities is hence diverse and contributes to economic development across a broad spectrum. The work that we have done over the past year has clarified and confirmed how this diverse range of activities contributes to the outcome of improved growth. This is reflected in the next section, which sets out how our activities contribute to achieving improvements in the business environment.
