Appendix 4: NIWA Catchment Names and Aquifer Names
Catchments in the NIWA catchment map (Figure 1) are not named - they are numbered. The map does not appear to cover some small coastal catchments.Aquifers are identified as per names in the aquifer map in Groundwaters of New Zealand (Figure 2 and Figure 3). Quite a number of aquifers are named in the Lincoln Environmental (2000) data that are not named in the Groundwaters of New Zealand map. In these cases, the names used by Lincoln Environmental (2000) are used.
