The EWP consists of over 40 individuals representing some 30 organisations. The organisations are:

  • The two industry licensing Boards: the Electrical Workers Registration Board; and the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board;
  • The relevant industry training organisations: ETITO, ESITO, and Master Plumbers ITO;
  • Industry associations and representative bodies: the Appliance and Electronic Industry Association; Electrical Contractors Association of New Zealand; Electricity Engineers' Association; Electricity Networks Association; LPG Association; Gas Appliance Suppliers Association; Gas Association of New Zealand; the NZ Electrical Institute; Electrical Safety Organisation; Gas Utilisation Institute; Master Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers NZ Inc;
  • Manufacturers, union, and consumer representatives: Manufacturers Federation; NZ Engineering, Printing, and Manufacturing Union; NZ Council for Elders; National Council for Women; Consumers Institute;
  • Government Agencies: The Ministry of Economic Development (formerly Ministry of Commerce); the Occupational Health and Safety Service (OSH) of the Department of Labour; the Ministry of Health; the Building Industry Authority; and
  • Telecom; Air New Zealand; Standards New Zealand; Transpower; and a number of private consultants.
