Test Laboratories
BP Oil New Zealand Ltd's laboratory (BP Lab) is one of two laboratories contracted for routine FQM tests, including cetane index. This laboratory tested the routine samples in batches throughout the year as they became available.
Enquiries revealed that the single laboratory in Australia capable of testing for CN was unable to test the 80 samples in this study. Two other laboratories, one in UK and the other in Singapore, were invited to tender for the CN and CI testing work, which was eventually awarded to Inspectorate (Singapore) Pty Ltd.
