Future Plans
The next major step anticipated by Trevor is the integration of the RIS and PACS. Currently the patient's details are brought up on the RIS by the radiologist and then the patient's name must be typed into the PACS separately to view the images for that patient. This creates a potential for error, for example, spelling the patient's name wrong and then looking at the wrong images. Integration of the two systems will result in fewer mistakes and less typing required by the radiologist, as the RIS will send a signal to the PACS to bring up the current patient's images automatically.
