The Ministry of Economic Development is seeking expressions of interest from individuals wishing to be considered for appointment as a member of the Accounting Standards Review Board (ASRB). The Deputy Chair position also needs to be filled.
As an independent Crown entity which sets the strategy for financial reporting, the ASRB meets around six times a year to review and approve financial reporting standards in New Zealand.
In addition to having extensive knowledge of business, accounting, finance, economics and law, you will need experience of:
- current financial reporting issues facing small and medium-sized entities, and knowledge of the not-for-profit sector; or
- financial reporting matters in securities markets, ideally as a practising accountant, an advisor, or within an issuer entity.
The Ministry will carry out short listing, interviews, and reference checks as part of the assessment process.
