The Minister of Energy is seeking applications for the Chair of the Electricity Commission. The Commission oversees the governance, operations and development of New Zealand's electricity wholesale and retail markets. The Electricity Commission is critical in ensuring that the regulatory regime promotes an effective and competitive electricity sector capable of delivering long-term benefits to New Zealand. The Chair is the Commission's principal spokesperson, responsible for carrying out all statutory obligations, leading the other Commissioners and the supporting organisation.
