Your chance to make a difference
The Minister for Small Business intends to refresh the membership of the Small Business Advisory Group.
The Small Business Advisory Group provides business sector views on the development of policy related to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
As a member of the Advisory Group, your role will be to provide on-going advice to Ministers, and government departments, on any issues affecting SMEs.
You will be expected to contribute to identifying the key issues impacting on SME growth and development, suggest priorities for action and be involved in the development of appropriate policy solutions.
Members of the Group will be drawn from the business community and will be expected to have hands-on experience as an SME, or working with SMEs. Their strong business networks will enable them to articulate the issues facing a range of industry sectors, start-ups and exporters. Having a close connection with Māori and Pacific SMEs, and women's business networks will be an advantage.
The Group will be appointed for terms of at least two years, which may be extended by mutual agreement. A commitment of up to three days per month is anticipated. The full terms of reference for the Small Business Advisory Group can be found on this site.
If you want to be considered for membership of the group, or wish to nominate someone to be a member, please respond by 29 September 2006 to:
