Regulatory Policy Team
The Regulatory Policy Team is part of the Ministry of Economic Development's Effective Markets Branch.
The team's main role is to improve the regulatory environment by promoting robust policy development and administering the Regulatory Impact Analysis regime. We encourage effective regulatory design so that proposals achieve their objectives, are well-implemented, and are maintained on an ongoing basis. We also encourage agencies to minimise any compliance costs flowing from policy proposals where possible.
