Part IV Inquiry into Airfield Activities at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch International Airports
On 6 August 2002, the Minister of Commerce published the final report of the Commerce Commission on the study of airfield activities at Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch international airports. The report is in response to a request from the Minister for a Commission study on whether airfield activities (as defined in the Airport Authorities Amendment Act 1997) provided by the three major international airport companies should be controlled under Part 5 of the Commerce Act.
On 23 May 2003, the Minister announced that controls will not be imposed on airfield activities at Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch international airports.
