Broadband
Affordable, Broadband (high speed) Internet access drives productivity and economic growth. It is a prerequisite for a 21st century economy. Broadband is a critical part of New Zealand's national infrastructure. The Ministry has had a long involvement with helping to create the needed environment for the development of Broadband.
The Digital Strategy focuses on "Connection" as being one of the key components of enhancing our usage of ICT to create our digital future. The Digital Strategy (through the Broadband Challenge) provides funding for the development and enhancement of the Broadband Infrastructure in New Zealand. See the Digital Strategy website
