Information and Communications Technologies in New Zealand: Case Studies

The Ministry of Economic Development commissioned a number of case studies of New Zealand businesses which had made a significant investment in ICT, as part of its research for the Digital Strategy.

The businesses were chosen to represent a range of business types and sizes in order to give insight into:

how ICTs were being introduced and used in New Zealand,
the potential of ICT to improve productivity, and
best practise management of ICTs in New Zealand businesses.

The case studies showcase ICT projects which:

represent a significant investment for the particular organisation,
involve sufficient complexity in decision making and implementation for it to be instructive, and
have had enough time for assessment.

It is anticipated that these case studies will be useful exemplars, both positive and negative, of the management of a variety of ICT projects in New Zealand businesses.
