Transitional Enforcement of Transpower's Pricing
On 20 January 2004 submissions were invited on a proposal that regulations be promulgated to provide for Transpower’s existing pricing methodology, altered to apply to a 1 July pricing year from 1 July 2005, to be enforceable during a transitional period until the Electricity Commission approved a methodology under Part F of the Electricity Governance Rules.
The Electricity (Transpower’s Pricing Methodology) Regulations 2004 were made in April 2004 following the above consultation.
On 29 June 2007, the Electricity Commission recommended a Transmission Pricing Methodology (TPM) to the Minister of Energy. The TPM is now included as schedule F5 to section IV of part F of the Electricity Governance Rules [link to Electricity Commission website]. The TPM was effective from 1 April 2008. Further information is available from the Electricity Commission website.
The Electricity (Transpower's Pricing Methodology) Regulations 2004 were revoked in July 2008.
