Possible Regulation of Online Securities Trader "Unlisted"

On 15 December 2004 the then Minister of Commerce, the Hon Margaret Wilson gave notice under section 36D of the Securities Markets Act of her intention to declare that the Securities Markets Act applies to Unlisted. Interested parties were invited to comment on this proposal and 25 submissions were received.

On Monday 1 August 2005, Hon Pete Hodgson announced his decision not to regulate the Unlisted securities trading facility at this time. A link to officials' final advice to the Minister recommending that Unlisted not be declared subject to the Securities Markets Act is provided below.
