MED, working with other agencies, contributes to a range of initiatives with the objective of improving the resiliency of New Zealand's network infrastructure.  Much of this work is inseparable part of our ongoing work in energy and ICT policy.  See below for other programmes that contribute to infrastructure resilience.

• Emergency Management - Business Continuity
  Includes information to assist businesses, including infrastructure providers, to plan for an influenza pandemic.

• Oil Emergency Response Strategy. MED is leading work to develop a strategy for responding to any future emergency disruptions in oil supplies.
• Resilient Infrastructure New Zealand Project Page[external link] MED has a prominent role in work underway across several government and non-government agencies to promote resilience in a wide range of industries with infrastructure characteristics (i.e. industries that form the basis for commercial and social activity).
• The Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management [external link] supports lifeline utilities in relation to emergency planning.
