Internationalisation and Investment New Zealand

Attracting overseas investment into New Zealand is one part of a strategy to integrate New Zealand firms into overseas networks and value chains. This is called internationalisation.

Internationalisation can involve investment by companies based off-shore into New Zealand-based companies and businesses; off-shore based companies locating operations directly in New Zealand or New Zealand based businesses investing in off-shore networks and companies.

Investment New Zealand [link to INZ website] is a unit working within New Zealand Trade and Enterprise which is charged with promoting, attracting, facilitating and leveraging direct productive investment by overseas companies in a way that contributes to overall economic growth and industry development in New Zealand.
