Part Three of the review has involved further research, investigation and analysis of some of the issues identified in Parts One and Two. As part of this, the discussion document Standards, Accreditation and Measurement: Supporting Our Economy was released on 8 August 2006.

As a result of submissions received and further analysis undertaken, Cabinet has decided on a number of outcomes arising from the review.

Cabinet paper: Standards and Conformance Review

This paper presents the findings of the review of New Zealand's standards and conformance infrastructure and seeks Cabinet’s agreement to the recommendations arising from the review. The Ministry will be undertaking further work to implement the recommendations agreed by Cabinet.

The Minister of Commerce issued a press statement announcing the outcomes of the review.

The Ministry prepared a number of analytical papers to assist in the preparation of advice to Ministers on the outcomes of the standards and conformance infrastructure review.
